Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”
John 6:8
Sometimes as homeschooling moms, we are just busy with so many small things, that we may think that’s ALL we do!
Let me encourage you – you are doing great things!
We think it’s just a small thing we’re doing.
We’re making breakfast.
Calling for dentist appointments.
Changing diapers and giving baths.
We’re making lunch.
Making another sandwich and cutting off the crusts because we know they won’t touch it if it has crusts.
Opening a can of soup that was on sale for lunch.
Heating up some leftover pasta from last night’s dinner.
Just small things. We do them without thinking every day.
But they’re not small things. You, momma, are sowing into the kingdom.
In John chapter 6, John writes about Jesus feeding the 5000. He used a small boy’s lunch of 5 loaves and 2 fish. My guess is that that little boy’s momma made her son’s lunch that day and didn’t give it another thought.
Maybe it was the same lunch she’d made for him each day, and it felt routine.
Maybe, it was all she had.
To her, it was just another lunch for her sweet boy.
But that small task of making lunch for her son, when put into the hands of Jesus, became a miracle.
His generosity blessed thousands. It fed 5,000 people that day. And the story is still ministering today.
Don’t discount what you’re doing on a daily basis for your family. Ask Jesus to take the simple things and turn them into miracles.
You’re sowing into the kingdom and raising spiritual warriors.
Keep going momma!
